about us

A black oval sign with gold lettering that reads 'Cannon Hill,' mounted on two wooden posts on a grassy area, with trees and a road in the background.

Cannon Hill Association (CHA) was developed as a neighborhood of single-family homes in North Chatham and incorporated in 1971. The land had formerly served as a farm and summer retreat for the Wentworth and Smith families. Cannon Hill features a deeded saltwater beach with boating access on Pleasant Bay. The association is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The neighborhood is located in North Chatham east of Orleans Road, Route 28, off Stony Hill Road.

Cannon Hill Road District (RD), managed by CHA, was created in 2005 to oversee the financial and logistical maintenance and repair of the roads and common areas in Cannon Hill. Snow removal and street cleaning are performed by the Town. The RD includes: Whidah and Bellamy Roads; Andrew Mitchell Lane; portions of Old Field Bend and Crescent Lane; and Shell Drive, which is accessible from Whidah Road. Residents of Shell Drive, while not part of CHA, enjoy access via an easement from Whidah Road.
